How to Format Your Memory Card to FAT32

Because retaining information is one of the key features of a dash cam, correctly formatting your memory card is crucial to the overall performance of your dash cam.

What is FAT32?

FAT32 or File Allocation 32 is an old file system architecture that offers compatibility across nearly all operating systems and thus is a well-suited format for data exchange between computer and devices. When using a memory card 64gb or higher, it is important to format the memory card to FAT32. By default, memory cards under 32gb should already be formatted under the FAT32 format.

Why do I need to Format to FAT32?

MicroSD cards in dash cams are constantly exposed to extreme conditions and require a format that is reliable and compatible across different operating systems. To maximize reliability and stability, it is recommended to format your memory card to FAT32.
