How to Format your Memory Card to FAT32 for Windows and MAC
WHAT IS FAT32?
FAT32 or File Allocation 32 is an old file system architecture. It offers compatibility across nearly all operating systems and thus is a well-suited format for data exchange between computer and devices.
When using a memory card higher than 64gb, it is important to format the memory card to FAT32.
Follow the instructions below to properly format your memory card to FAT32.
Insert your memory card into your computer
Download the FAT32 Format tool here
Extract fat32format.exe to your desktop.
Double click to run.
Choose the drive you want to format. Make sure you are choosing the memory card you want formatted.
Leave the default Allocation Size and the Quick Format checked.
Click Start to run.
Once finished you will see a Done message. At this time you can safely close and remove your memory card from the computer and insert your memory card back into your dash cam.
Insert your memory card into your computer.
Navigate to the Disk Utility. You can do this by going to the search box at the top right corner and typing it in.
Locate your memory card. Click the Erase tab at the top
In the Format field, choose MS-DOS (FAT) from the drop-down list.
Click Erase to run.
Once finished, safely eject your memory card. You can now remove your remove your memory card from the computer and insert your memory card back into your dash cam.
